The Monthly Must-Haves

By Tuckernuck on

In these uncertain times, it’s easy to lose track of all space and time. Long, hot, sunny days, however, have finally put us squarely in a summer state of mind. This month, we’ve checked in with our friends for some socially-distant style inspiration. With their help, we’ve compiled a list of practical yet stylish must-haves for the month of July.

01. The Shirt Dress

The shirtdress is such a staple piece that can be worn a million and one ways. I love pairing it with a lot of gold and neutral jewels and a heel. I would also dress it down with a Tretorn sneaker -- but keep everything else the same!

02. The Floral Dress

I love a Saloni dress for its bright and bold colors. Working from home in it, I pair it with Tretorn sneakers with the green logo, to bring out the green in the dress. Sometimes I add a pair of rainbow studs for a fun touch as well!

03. The Nantucket Reds™ Tretorns

When I was in college, I led bike trips for kids on Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard and the Cape. We stayed at the youth hostel and shopped for all of our meals at Stop ‘n’ Shop! Since travel restrictions have made it more difficult for me to get to Nantucket this summer, I’m loving anything I can find that reminds me of one of my favorite places in the world. And these Nantucket Reds™ tennies will do the trick all summer!

04. The Pleated Skirt

I love the flirty silhouette of the RIXO skirt. It’s easy to accessorize with cute, summery shoes and gold jewelry—perfect for dinner at the pool with my husband or backyard get-togethers with friends this summer!

05. The Pink Blouse

I tend to live in white jeans this time of year, so I’m always looking for pretty tops to pair with them. This one is a favorite -- the color and lace detailing are sweet and summery, and it’s easy to dress up with cute heels. (Not that I remember how to walk in them!)

– Polly

06. The Maxi Dress

This dress is both beautiful and comfortable, so it helps me feel put together while on zoom calls for work, getting a child his 9 millionth snack of the day, or finally relaxing outside for a drink with some neighbors.

07. The Striped Tunic

This top is light and breezy — perfect for a warm, late afternoon in the summer — and the little puff in the sleeves lends a bit of edge to your classic tunic. I wear it with white pants or over a bathing suit for a day at the beach.

08. The Date Night Dress

The dress gives me flamenco energy. I love the drama of the sleeves and the wild print. It makes me want to go to a party and dance all night. I would wear it with big earrings, a pop of yellow or pink, and a pair of shoes that are easy to take off so I could cut the rug with abandon.

09. The Mod Top

This tunic is the perfect summer top. It’s such a simple, flattering silhouette, with an adorable floral button detail. I like to pair it with comfortable ankle-frayed jeans to give the overall look a feminine yet edgy vibe (a little like my design mood of late). Dressing it up with heels and earrings makes getting dressed so enjoyable after having been at home for 100 days!

10. The Throw On & Go Dress

One of the nice things about quarantine has been the ability to lounge around in comfortable clothing for an extended period of time, but this blue dress keeps the comfort going even when it’s time to get back out again…safely. I’ve loved wearing this dress, paired with these sneakers, to attend client meetings and to walk construction sites. Much like a valued design tenet, this outfit is about form and function.
