Graphic Design and Web Merchandising Intern

Tuckernuck is seeking an inventive and resourceful Graphic Design and Web Merchandising Intern who is eager to contribute to a quickly growing, ever-evolving eCommerce start-up.

To succeed in this role, you must quickly develop a clear understanding of the Tuckernuck Brand and design process. Working alongside our highly talented Creative Director and Photographer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design of marketing and e-commerce assets. On any given day, you will participate in a multitude of activities including cropping, editing, and retouching studio photographs for the site, organizing and managing photo workflow, working on graphic spreads and layouts, assisting in executing online merchandising themes, and collaborating with our Design, Merchandising, and Marketing teams.

You will report to our Creative Director and Editorial Manager, but at any point in time will work with members of our Merchandising, Marketing, and Operations teams. The scope of this intern program will also include working closely with each department and gaining knowledge about all facets of the company.  You will be on the front lines of a fast-paced and growing team in an innovative and entrepreneurial environment.   • Design and upload new homepage slides to the website 2-3 times weekly.
  • Oversee updating and possibly re-vamping what is now the Tuckernuck Style blog.
  • Understand and promote best practices in branding and marketing. Collaborate with the Marketing team to create new digital ads.
  • Support our social media marketing team to create new ads, update Facebook page design, etc.
  • Create new branded materials for packages.
  • Continuously help to implement website design improvement; provide creative and innovative solutions and advancement.
  • Qualifications
  • You are a college student or recent graduate who is passionate about e-commerce.
  • You have taken relevant college course(s)in design.
  • You are a proactive team player but also have the ability to work independently.
  • You have a solid eye for detail and great taste for aesthetics.
  • You are smart, ambitious, creative, organized and detail-oriented.
  • You are excited to bring your design talent and fresh ideas to the Tuckernuck brand.
  • You have a compelling portfolio that demonstrates your design abilities and style.
  • You are proficient in Photoshop, Lightroom, Adobe Illustrator, and InDesign.
