My traveling Kru just needed a spot right here. 🌸 We started our 2023 in Longboat, and ended it in LBK too. It’s the perfect way to end the year… and start a new one. We (I) traveled a lot in the last 12 months. I met an entirely new tribe of women who have become such a backbone to my days. I learned a lot this year… about myself, about relationships, about my children. It really felt like a year of adventure and at the same time such a big year of growth for my Kru. I took a chance on a cruise ship with strangers to kick off the year… Disney + Cruise, The Grand, back to LBK, The Masters, Atlanta for Easter, Auburn, countless baseball tournaments, 30a, Harbour Island, Luke’s first time at sleep away camp in Mississippi, Atlanta, North Carolina + Lake Chatuge, Auburn again, Longboat again, Orange Beach (and the best concert ever ericchurchmusic), Atlanta to shower avolywainwright, a spur of the moment Disney moms day, Boston, Maine, 30a with some QT with the besties, Chicago for a magical Thanksgiving, Atlanta to see the man in the red suit, and ended the year in Longboat. Most of these places and visits were to spend time with family- and that went with my 2023 word of intentional- to spend time with those we love. We came off of a traumatic 2022, and all we wanted was to give quality time to those we love. It would be an obvious fib to say I know how to sit still… I’m so thankful for those (ahhmm maryhelen_mousecounselor) who brought me out of my shell and pushed me to be a yes girl and just go. This year, I’m of course traveling. But I also am going to really try to sit. And to be. And to really relish the place we are in, with the people who are around us. (Including watching 500 baseball games in the next 5 months) My word is present. I want to be where I am, intentionally be in the moment. That may mean less links and collabs, but more quality friendships and relationships and DM convos. I’ll meet you all where you are- and truly try my hardest to be present.
