Freya hats are handmade in Ecuador by artisans and family-owned businesses whose traditional craftsmanship is apprenticed from one generation of women to the next. The palms are harvested and prepared for weaving in the villages through a traditional, manual process that takes approximately two days. The brand honors their genius through a diverse selection of hats which are all certified to exceed UPF 50 protection.
The Salmon Floral Gardenia Hat is ready for all your sun-seeking adventures! Featuring a distinct center crease along the top of the crown with a bone suede chin strap, this is a must-have for stylish sun protection. Decorated with a floral band, you will want to wear this bohemian and beachy number with everything from swimwear to denim shorts to flowy dresses.
Care: Hats should be stored upside down with their crown down. Don’t pack a hat in a suitcase. If you don't travel with a hatbox, wear it or carry it until you find a safe spot to rest your hat and your head during your travels.
Note: This hat is handwoven hence each hat is unique and reflects the natural beauty & variation of the handcraft process. Because the hats are freshly woven, sometimes they arrive a bit stiff. We recommend running a steamer on hats that arrive misshapen. You can flip the brims down and steam them back to shape. They should loosen over time as well.
