The Rome Look

Getting There
Most international flights arrive at Rome Fiumicino Airport, about 30-45 minutes from central Rome by car or taxi. The Leonardo Express train is another easy option, connecting Fiumicino to Roma Termini in about 30 minutes. Once there, Rome is best explored on foot—comfy shoes are a must. Taxis are best for longer hops, and a car service is worth considering for airport rides, late dinners, or anyone traveling with kids.
Sunset Spritz
Ease into Rome the right way: rooftop views, a salty snack, and an Aperol spritz. Casa Monti’s rooftop bar is our favorite place to toast your first night in town.
Borghese Bliss
Stroll the gardens, rent a rowboat on the lake, and book ahead for the Galleria Borghese—home to Bernini sculptures, Caravaggio paintings, and one of Rome's most beautiful museum settings.

Tucked away on one of the prettiest streets in Rome, this boutique stay is made for a romantic getaway. We love the modern amenities, hidden garden views, and close location to the Spanish Steps.
Villa Laetitia
An artful, less-expected stay along the Tiber with major style credentials—it’s owned and restored by fashion designer Anna Fendi Venturini. Book in the main building if you want the full experience: historic, chic, and quietly glamorous.
Hotel de Russie
A true classic. Come for the polished service and stay for a drink in the garden. Set among lush greenery, it’s one of the most beautiful spots in the city for an elegant aperitivo.

Breakfast, Coffee, and Grab & Go
La Casa del Caffè Tazza d’Oro
Tuckernuck’s pick for the best coffee in Rome, this classic café near the Pantheon is a must for espresso lovers. Go for a quick caffeine fix in between sightseeing.
Alle Fratte di Trastevere
This one wins for the best iced coffee. Add it to your Trastevere itinerary when you need a little pick-me-up after lunch and shopping.
LUNA by Faro
A great stop for an iced matcha latte if you want a break from espresso and a little reset before more walking.
Canova Piazza del Popolo
A famous old-school spot on Piazza del Popolo where Fellini and other Roman legends once people-watched. Go for an espresso, glass of wine, or sandwich, and stay for the scene.
Caffetteria del Chiostro
Tucked inside Chiostro del Bramante, this is a cool daytime coffee stop that turns into an easy aperitivo spot later on. The wallpaper here is worth the trip alone.
Said
Housed in a former chocolate factory, Said is part café, part confectionery, and a must-stop for hot chocolate.
Lunch
Emma
Don’t let its popularity deter you. For lunch or dinner, Emma is a classic for very good reason. The pizza is our favorite in all of Rome—and an outdoor table makes it even better.
Vivi Bistrot
Stop here when you need a breath of fresh air away from the crowds. It’s nearly all locals and a romantic spot to share a meal overlooking the beautiful Piazza Navona.
Ditta Trinchetti
An under-the-radar spot known for its amazing pastas and sauces, Ditta Trinchetti is the kind of neighborhood café we wish existed back home. Lots of vegetarian-friendly options, too.
Lo Scopettaro
A traditional Roman trattoria with a rustic, old-world feel in Testaccio, one of the city’s best foodie neighborhoods. Order the carbonara (but save room for the tiramisu!).
Rocco
A relaxed spot in the heart of Monti. We love it for its unfussy dishes, old-school charm, and prime location for a midday break between shopping and wandering the cobblestone streets.
Dinner
Roscioli Salumeria con Cucina
Well known, but still incredible. Part deli, part wine cellar, part restaurant, Roscioli is one of those quintessential Rome experiences that lives up to the hype. Reserve well in advance.
La Terrazza
A fine dining experience with a view at Hotel Eden. The menu changes seasonally and blends Roman roots with French and Spanish influence, making it our choice for a celebratory night out.
Checco Er Carettiere
A Trastevere gem for authentic cuisine. Sit outside in the courtyard and start with both versions of Roman artichokes (yes, you need both), then order whatever the waiter recommends.
Checchino Dal 1887
An old-school style bistro in Testaccio with serious history. Grab a table outside and order the classics—this is one of the city's most storied dining rooms.
Flavio al Velavevodetto
A Testaccio institution known for the best cacio e pepe and carbonara. It’s the kind of easy neighborhood spot we love—classic Roman cooking and a dining room full of locals.
Pizzeria Remo A Testaccio
A no-frills Testaccio classic for Roman-style pizza. It’s casual, buzzy, and best for a relaxed dinner when you want thin, crispy pies.
