Freya hats are handmade in Ecuador by artisans and family-owned businesses where traditional craftsmanship is apprenticed from one generation of women to the next. The palms are harvested and prepared for weaving in the villages through a traditional, manual process that takes approximately two days. The brand honors their genius through a diverse selection of hats which are all certified to exceed UPF 50 protection.
The Black Redwood Hat is ready for adventure! Featuring a braid-like woven pattern, a pinched crown, and a subtle silver logo detail, this broad-brimmed fedora is a must-have for stylish sun protection. Bohemian and beachy, you will want to wear this with everything from swimwear to denim shorts to flowy dresses.
- Pinched crown
- Silver logo detail
- Braid-like woven pattern
- Broad brimmed fedora silhouette
- Material: 100% Paja Toquilla Straw
- Care: Hats should be stored upside down with their crown down. Don’t pack a hat in a suitcase. If you don't travel with a hatbox, wear it or carry it until you find a safe spot to rest your hat and your head during your travels.
- Note: Because the hats are freshly woven, sometimes they arrive a bit stiff. We recommend running a steamer on hats that arrive misshapen. You can flip the brims down and steam them back to shape. They should loosen over time as well.
